If you see a black widow in your home it is a good idea to have the home checked for other spiders, or worse a nest!
Brown recluse spiders typically live in dark corners including basements, crawl spaces, and cellars. The brown recluse is actually a shy spider and is not aggressive. They will bite in self defense if they are physically threatened. However, if you are bitten by a brown recluse the bite can be very dangerous. Symptoms of the bite can vary by the age of the victim.
The symptom caused by the bite of the Brown Recluse Spider varies according to the age and health of the victim. Initial symptoms often shown include a fever, shivering, nausea and vomiting. Eventually the bite grows into an ulcer. Sometimes surgery is required in order to extract the necrotic tissue and plastic surgery helps to disguise the scar.
